End of an Era….we are closing Bistro Vinden

After 28 years at the helm of Vinden Estate it brings me pleasure and sadness to say the time has come….Sandra & Guy (aka Mum and Dad) are officially taking time to have a life again. They not fully retiring as I don’t they ever will be capable of such a thing.

Unfortunately, much to the dismay of our loyal customers, after 7 fantastic years we will be closing the Bistro. It has been a lot of fun and of course hard work. Mum and Dad are ready to start enjoying a little more time together on weekends and are looking forward to travelling more frequently. More importantly enjoying a glass of wine on a Saturday afternoon rather then serving one.

We will still be serving some food on the terrace with tastings as we have done for the past 7 years; paté, cheese plates, charcuterie and antipasto.

…..so, what does this mean for us going forward?
Over the past 2 years we have been transitioning from the first Generation to the second. Mum and Dad have been fantastic mentors and support. Vinden Estate wine will continue to grow in conjunction with my experimental label The Vinden Headcase, the two balancing the best of tradition with innovation.

We as a family would like to say thank you to everyone who has come in and shared a meal and a glass of wine with us. Sandra, Guy, Gabby, Ben and myself have worked together to create and transform Vinden Estate from the paddocks of pasture to the gorgeous property and family Estate it is today. Don’t fret, we will continue moving forward and they will still be floating around and checking on me; and attempting to stop me posting more cheesey photos of them from the 90’s.

I look forward to seeing you in the cellar door in the coming months and years.
Cheers,
Angus Vinden
