Established in 1990 by Guy and Sandra Vinden, Vinden Estate Wines is a family-owned, boutique Hunter Valley winery and vineyard located in Pokolbin. Together with our children Angus, Gabrielle and Ben, we focus on producing small quantities of premium wine. However, lets not get too serious, we have a lot of fun doing this and are now all a little bit more ‘eccentric’ or as we like to call ourselves ‘basket cases’ after 20 years working together. We handcraft our wines (literally not figuratively) on-site at our Hunter Valley vineyard and winery from hand-picked grapes using the traditional methods of open fermentation, hand plunging and basket pressing, as well as incorporating the best of modern wine making techniques with just little fun on side. We are passionate about the Hunter and source our grapes from the Hunter, either grown on our Estate vineyard or sourced from the famous Travena and Somerset vineyards.

We are proud to supply some of your favourite local bars, Restaurants and some of  Sydney’s finest Hatted restaurants, including Quay and Sails lavender Bay.

Our range of wines includes the Hunter Valley’s only Alicante Bouschet (a light dry rosé), Sparkling Alicante Bouschet rosé, Semillon, SSB, Verdelho, Chardonnay, Merlot, Basket Press Shiraz and Late Harvest Semillon. This year for the first time we have also produced an highly unusual red blend comprising Alicante Bouschet, Tempranillo & Petit Verdot, we believe this to be an Australian first.

Our wine is sold on-premise at our relaxed Pokolbin, Hunter Valley cellar door, where you will find our service friendly and informative.
